Dr. Lainna Callentine has a great love for teaching. She is an author, speaker, pediatrician, homeschool mother, missionary doctor and college professor with a certification in elementary education. Dr. Callentine received her B.A. from Northwestern University where she studied in the School of Education majoring in Human Development and Social Policy while competing on a full athletic scholarship in basketball. She is a former classroom teacher with a Master’s degree in education. She completed her M.D. and residency training in pediatrics. Dr. Callentine continues to have wonderment for the beauty of God’s creation in the human body. She left formal medicine in the E.R. to stay home and homeschool her children. She is collaborating as an author with Master Books in a new exciting book series and hands-on curriculum for children showcasing the human body called God’s Wondrous Machine. Dr. Callentine is passionate about the biological sciences, children, education, families, and the God who created all things. In addition, Dr. Callentine has dedicated herself to being a lifelong child and family advocate. As a pediatrician in one of the busiest emergency rooms in Illinois, she has seen firsthand many of the intricate issues and problems that affect children and families. She is concerned about the steady removal of authority from parents. Parents can be obstructed from deciding what is in the best interest of their own children. This erosion of parental rights can be seen in public schools, on the home schooling front, and in the medical arena. Dr. Callentine is dedicated to the fight to rebuild the American family and believes that children need their parents more than ever to grow into healthy, spiritually mature adults.
