Dick and his wife Dorothy began their home education journey in 1983. Through the years since 1984 they have been in leadership of a local support group, founders of Oregon state Christian home school organization, and founding board members of the National Alliance of Christian Home Education Leadership. Dick's role as a father in leadership has lead their family in the business/ministry of Christian home school support. Turning the hearts of the fathers to their sons has been his rallying call as he holds "fathers only" sessions at home school conferences and workshops. Returning Christian families to the biblical role of discipleship by godly example is how he exhorts parents to raise the next generation "as though it won't be the last." He prays that the saving grace that God extended to him 60 years ago will be extended to all whom he addresses as he uses the Bible for his textbook, and a lifetime of experience as his examples. His energies have been directed to the home school ministries that he shares with his wife. As a sustaining income for 42 years, Dick served as a law enforcement professional in the Portland area.
